This week, as former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin is found guilty of all charges related to the death of George Floyd, we look at the impact this case has had on society, its cultural significance, and the variety of responses to the verdict appearing in the media.
The battle against the coronavirus continues into 2021 as a recent surge in daily infection rates has put India into the spotlight. This, along with controversial statements made by UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson which have landed him in hot water, and the Supreme Court’s announcement that it will look at a controversial case in New York related to the Second Amendment.
Then we look at the aftermath of the court’s verdict which found former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin guilty of all charges related to the death of George Floyd. While many do feel that justice has been served, we look at the impact this case has had on society, its cultural significance, and the variety of responses to the verdict appearing in the media.
